U.S. Soldiers & Veterans: Personal Fitness Trainer

The National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (known as NESTA) has just been approved by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. Soldiers and veterans can now use the benefits of the GI Bill to have their personal fitness trainer examination reimbursed.

NESTA, which is nationally accredited, has been established since 1992. Since this time, it has certified approximately 20,000 personal fitness trainers and boasts over 45,000 members in over 40 countries. Although it offers over a dozen fitness and nutrition educational programs, its Personal Fitness Trainer Certification is by far its most popular with military personnel.

NESTA CEO, Dr. John Spencer Ellis states, “NESTA has always has a strong military following. Soldiers and vets have a great love of fitness. They often do incredibly well with a career in fitness. We are so honored that we can now offer the benefits of the GI Bill to our men and women in the armed services.” Ellis continues, “Regardless of what you think of our county’s current military actions, we need to support the people who help maintain the quality of life we all enjoy.”
